Make-a-Mug Ceramics Workshop
This class is a two-part, hand-building workshop using clay slabs to build functional mugs/cups perfect for coffee, tea or other beverages. You will get a chance to create up to two mugs during the workshop and decorate your mug using tools, textures and glazes. All supplies are provided.
Location: University of Mobile, Farmer Art Building
Instructor: Phillip Counselman, MFA
Session 1:
Saturday, October 2nd 9am-12pm, Part 1 (3 hours) - Hand build your mug and apply textures/carved designs. Mugs will be dried/fired before the second part of the workshop.
Session 2:
Saturday, October 23rd 9am-11am, Part 2 (2 hours) - Apply colored glazes to your mugs before the final firing. Mugs will be available for pickup approximately 1-2 weeks after the second session.
Cost is $60 for AIGA Members and $75 for non-members.
Max 15 people. Pre-registration is required.
COVID-19 Precautions: Masks are required while inside the building.
You must attend both sessions in order to receive your finished mugs.
Refunds must be requested at least 72 hours before the event due to supplies being pre-purchased.
